Surgery Planning
Your child is our #1 priority. We aim for the best possible outcome with every procedure and strive to provide our patients and their families with ample education and information from start to finish.
Your contribution to your child’s outcome is invaluable, as well. You must be aware of the pre and post-operative instructions, so that both you and your child can be prepared before their surgery as well as recover properly afterward.
Both pre- and post-operative care are so important to your child’s surgical procedure and outcome.
Pre-Operative instructions:
Pre-Operative instructions refer to information that you are provided before surgery. This information may include what the child can eat, what time they need to stop eating/timing prior to the surgery, when to take certain medications, etc.
In addition, prior to having surgery, you will be asked to schedule an appointment with your child’s pediatrician/primary care provider. They will review your child’s medical history and conduct a thorough physical examination, to make sure that your child is in good health and fit for surgery.
As with any surgical procedure in our current healthcare climate, your child may need to get tested for COVID-19.
Post-Operative instructions: If you have scheduled your child’s surgery, visit our surgical counseling page for further instructions.
